1993年才成立的阿蓝酒厂，与他所在的岛(Arran)同名，整个岛也只有唯一一家蒸馏厂。经过12年的努力，Isle of Arran酒厂在2007年拿到知名的威士忌杂志（Whisky Magazine）的年度英格兰蒸馏厂大奖，这个难得的荣耀，证明了这个酒厂多年来的努力耕耘是成功的。

    在19世纪的早期，阿蓝岛有超过50家的酒厂，不过在那个时代，这些酒厂都是非法经营。离上一家有正式的酿酒执照的酒厂结束(1836年)，睽达157年后的1993年，终于又成立了一家蒸馏厂，让失传已久的酿酒传统延续下来。

    这个只有一对蒸馏器的小型蒸馏厂，自身产量稀少，于是从自身的优处出发，专门出产少量而多样化的威士忌品种，至今正式生产12年的时间，已有了超过40种以上的不同品种，专门经营一些爱好者和收藏家。

阿蓝在陈年的部份，充分的与时代潮流接轨，酒厂发挥创意酿出一些充分有想像力的风味桶(wood finish)。这些令人瞠目结舌的年轻酒加风味桶的变化，赢得了爱好者的热烈掌声。

    在这样不传统的苏格兰酒里找不到陈腐的气息，或许它的品位更贴近苏格兰远古开疆辟土的原始精神，在丰富多变的酒款里我们是否能品味到凯乐特民族的坚毅特质？
