From the rich agricultural countryside of East Lothian comes Glenkinchie, the Classic Malt of the Lowlands. As the distillery is so close to the Capital, it is known as The Edinburgh Malt.
Founded 1825 by George and John Rate, at Pencaitland near Edinburgh. Rebuilt in the 1890s as a model distillery. Only survivor of five Lowland distilleries to found Scottish Malt Distilleries, 1914. Maltings become museum, 1968. Still-house rebuilt and conversion to steam heating, 1981. Mash house rebuilt, 1995; traditional Oregon Pine (two) and Canadian Larch (four) wooden washbacks retained.
Light character, young and from some of Scotland's largest stills. Traditional lowland wash still, at 32,000 litres, one of the largest in any distillery. A single cast iron worm tub cools the spirit. Hard water from the limestone Lammermuir Hills. Mostly from bourbon casks, aged 12 years.

在格兰昆奇的酒瓶上,您可以看见酒厂的名称下有“爱丁堡的纯麦”几个字,酒厂距离爱丁堡约20千米,位于周围被美丽农场包围的东洛锡安(East Lothian )行政区。每年“Burns Night”,人们欢聚爱丁堡,传统食品“Haggis”和格兰昆奇威士忌是完美的搭配。这款威士忌有清淡的口感,适合在饭前饮用,是最典型的低地威士忌。在清新的口感中,有花和芝草的味道,清爽甘甜,后味平和,并且有香料味。
